The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) has banned the entry of vehicles carrying sacrificial animals on motorways ahead of Eidul Azha in a bid to ensure public safety and maintain smooth traffic flow during the busy travel season.

According to an NHMP spokesperson, overloaded, unfit and improperly loaded vehicles transporting animals pose serious risks on highways and motorways, often leading to traffic accidents and congestion. Under the new restrictions, such vehicles will be diverted to alternative routes instead of being allowed onto the motorway network.
