Islamabad to Establish Three Modern Sports Arenas

ISLAMABAD: In a major push to promote sports and encourage a healthy lifestyle among residents, the federal capital is set to get three state-of-the-art sports arenas under a newly approved municipal development initiative.
The decision was finalized following strict directives from Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi, with implementation monitored directly by the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
The upcoming sports complexes are strategically planned for development in key residential sectors, including Sector D-12/1, aimed at addressing the long-standing shortage of standardized recreational spaces in the federal capital.
Urban planners and local community representatives have lauded the initiative, noting that accessible recreational infrastructure plays a pivotal role in youth engagement, physical well-being, and crime prevention.
By introducing modern facilities for various sports disciplines, the administration hopes to foster a culture of active living and host competitive local tournaments that bring communities together.
According to CDA officials, groundwork and site demarcation for the arenas have already commenced, with detailed architectural blueprints currently in the final stages of approval.
The civic authority aims to accelerate construction timelines to ensure the projects are completed and opened for public use within the upcoming fiscal year.
