Islamabad: Pakistani passport holders can now travel more easily to 30 destinations worldwide, as a growing number of countries offer visa-free entry, visa on arrival (VOA) or Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA), making international holidays more accessible despite Pakistan’s relatively low passport ranking.

From tropical islands and wildlife hotspots to historic cities and mountain escapes, the list spans destinations across Asia, Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific, giving Pakistani travellers a wider range of options without the need for lengthy visa procedures.

According to the latest Henley Passport Index, Pakistan ranks 100th globally. Even so, Pakistani citizens can visit 30 countries under simplified entry arrangements.

Eleven destinations, including Barbados, Dominica, Cook Islands, Rwanda, Trinidad and Tobago, The Gambia and Vanuatu, offer visa-free access to Pakistani nationals.

A further 16 countries, including the Maldives, Cambodia, Nepal, Madagascar, Timor-Leste and Sierra Leone, grant visas on arrival, allowing travellers to obtain entry permits after landing.

Meanwhile, Kenya, Seychelles and Sri Lanka require an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA), a streamlined online approval process that replaces the need for a traditional visa application.

The destinations cater to a variety of travel interests. Beach lovers can escape to the Maldives, Barbados or Seychelles, while adventure seekers can trek in Nepal, go on safari in Kenya or experience gorilla trekking in Rwanda. Those interested in history and culture can explore Cambodia’s Angkor Wat, Sri Lanka’s ancient heritage sites and Haiti’s UNESCO-listed Citadelle Laferrière.

Travel experts advise Pakistanis to confirm the latest entry requirements before booking their trips, as visa policies, health regulations and immigration rules may change. Travellers should also ensure their passports meet validity requirements and carry supporting documents such as return tickets, hotel reservations and proof of sufficient funds where required.

As the summer travel season gathers pace, these simplified entry rules are expected to encourage more Pakistanis to explore international destinations with fewer visa-related hurdles.
