ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs announced on Tuesday that the digital transformation of the pilgrimage process has achieved a significant milestone as thousands of private pilgrims successfully completed their bookings through the official Pak Hajj App.
The innovative mobile platform has streamlined operations, ensuring transparency and efficiency for citizens intending to perform the sacred religious journey this season.
According to the ministry’s official spokesperson, more than 17,000 private pilgrims have finalized their bookings via the application thus far.
Alongside the registration milestone, authorities confirmed that Rs 14 billion has been securely transferred to authorized tour operating companies, ensuring financial compliance and accountability within the sector to prevent fraudulent practices.
This digital initiative marks a major step forward in Pakistan’s administrative management of religious tourism, replacing cumbersome manual procedures with a centralized, user-friendly interface.
By leveraging technology, the government aims to safeguard pilgrims against exploitation by unauthorized agents, while simultaneously enhancing the overall service delivery standards of authorized tour operators across the country.
Ministry officials stated that monitoring teams will continue to oversee the operations of authorized companies to guarantee that promised services are delivered to the pilgrims.
Further updates regarding flight schedules, accommodation arrangements in Saudi Arabia, and pre-departure orientation sessions are expected to be announced in the coming days.
