ISLAMABAD: In a decisive move to address fuel supply discrepancies, authorities in Islamabad have sealed six petrol stations for providing substandard fuel to consumers.

This action was taken on Tuesday following inspections that revealed violations of fuel quality standards.

The Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA) conducted the inspections as part of a broader initiative to ensure compliance with fuel regulations.

An official from the ICTA stated, “We are committed to protecting consumer rights and ensuring that all petrol stations adhere to the established quality standards. These closures serve as a warning to others in the industry.”

The sealed stations will remain closed until further notice, pending a thorough investigation.

This crackdown on petrol stations comes amid growing concerns over fuel quality and its impact on vehicle performance and safety. Consumers have expressed frustration over the prevalence of substandard fuel, which can lead to costly repairs and decreased vehicle efficiency.

The government’s actions are seen as a necessary step to restore public confidence in fuel providers.

Looking ahead, the ICTA plans to conduct more inspections across the city to ensure compliance and deter further violations. Authorities have also indicated that they will implement stricter penalties for non-compliance to safeguard consumer interests and maintain industry standards.
