Magnitude 5.4 Earthquake Jolts Quetta, Nushki, Chagai

Islamabad: Earthquake tremors have been reported in various areas of Balochistan, including Quetta, Nushki, and Chagai.

The tremors were felt in Pak-Iran border areas like Chaman, Qila Abdullah, Pashin, and Dalbandin.

The seismological center measured the earthquake’s magnitude at 5.4, with the epicenter located 150 km northwest of Quetta, and a depth of 35 km underground. Despite the widespread fear prompting people to evacuate their homes, there have been no reports of casualties or property damage thus far.

Earlier, on March 13, earthquake tremors were experienced in and around Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar, with a magnitude of 5.3 recorded at 8:24 am.

The earthquake’s depth was reported at 130 kilometers, with its epicenter situated in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan.

On February 10, tremors were felt in various areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, including Peshawar, Swat, Charsadda, Chitral, Dir, Mansehra, Malakand, Hangu, and Miranshah, leading to people fleeing their homes out of fear.

Islamabad and its surroundings also experienced tremors.

The earthquake measured 4.9 on the Richter scale, with a depth of 142 km underground, and its epicenter was located in the Hindu Kush region.
