The latest health department report indicated that Peshawar has the highest number of affected individuals, with 3,282 patients brought to hospitals and medical centers.

Swat reported 2,884 cases, Charsadda 1,815, Dera Ismail Khan 1,698, Nowshera 1,186, Mardan 1,060, Swabi 144, Lower Dir 128, Malakand 127, and Bajaur 120 cases.

The health department has urged the public to take precautionary measures during this severe heatwave, including drinking plenty of water and consuming clean food, to prevent diseases like gastroenteritis and diarrhea.

More than 600 residents were admitted to Allied, Civil, and General Hospitals in Faisalabad after suffering from gastroenteritis, reportedly triggered by the consumption of unhygienic and overly spicy food during Eid-ul-Azha celebrations.

According to health department sources, a significant number of patients began arriving at hospitals over the weekend, complaining of stomach pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. Medical experts have attributed the surge in cases to excessive intake of oily and spicy foods commonly prepared during Eid.
