Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on Monday intensified its anti-encroachment drive, removing illegal structures and sealing unauthorised commercial properties along High Court Road to ease traffic congestion and improve the urban environment.
The operation was carried out on the directives of Commissioner Rawalpindi and Director General RDA, Aamer Khattak. According to an RDA spokesperson, the enforcement squad conducted a comprehensive operation from Gulraiz Gate to Car Chowk and onward to Pakki Gali.
During the drive, encroachments were cleared to restore the road to its original condition and ensure smoother vehicular movement. Several illegal commercial units were also sealed for violating building regulations.
Authorities remained present throughout the operation to ensure effective implementation, while shopkeepers and the public were urged to respect approved building plans and avoid occupying public spaces.

The RDA warned that strict legal action would be taken against repeat violators, reiterating a zero-tolerance policy toward illegal encroachments.
The campaign is part of broader efforts to modernise urban infrastructure, reduce traffic congestion and enhance the city’s overall outlook. Citizens have been encouraged to report violations through the RDA helpline to support the initiative.
The operation was supervised by Additional Director General RDA, Masood Ahmad Bukhari, with Director Land and In-Charge Enforcement Ghazanfar Ali Awan and other enforcement staff actively participating.
