RAWALPINDI: In a bid to enhance security measures, police have established eight special pickets at strategic locations around the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) base in Rawalpindi.
The initiative, which commenced on Saturday, aims to safeguard the base and surrounding areas from potential threats.
The police have deployed a dedicated picket at Azad Patan, staffed by 40 officers under the command of a Superintendent of Police (SP).
This unit is tasked with briefing personnel and ensuring their effective presence at the site. Additionally, a police reserve team equipped with anti-riot gear is on standby at the nearby Kahuta police station, ready to respond to any incidents.
This enhanced security protocol reflects the authorities’ commitment to maintaining public safety and preventing any untoward incidents in the vicinity of critical establishments.
The establishment of these pickets comes amid heightened security concerns, emphasizing the need for vigilance in protecting national assets.
Moving forward, police mobile squads from Chaklala, Sadiqabad, and Waris Khan police stations will conduct regular patrols around the Nur Khan PAF Base.
