Southampton: Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana won the toss and elected to bat first against Pakistan in their ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 encounter at The Rose Bowl in Southampton on Saturday.

Pakistan entered the match with a strong historical advantage over Bangladesh in Women’s T20 Internationals. The Green Shirts have won 16 of their previous 20 meetings, while Bangladesh have managed four victories.

Led by Fatima Sana, Pakistan fielded a lineup featuring Muneeba Ali, Gull Feroza, Ayesha Zafar, Iram Javed, Saira Jabeen, Aliya Riaz, Tuba Hassan, Tasmia Rubab, Nashra Sandhu and Sadia Iqbal.

Bangladesh, captained by wicketkeeper-batter Nigar Sultana, named Juairiya Ferdous, Dilara Akter, Sharmin Akhter, Sobhana Mostary, Shorna Akter, Ritu Moni, Nahida Akter, Rabeya Khan, Shanjida Akter Meghla and Marufa Akter in their playing XI.

With Pakistan holding a commanding head-to-head record, the match presents Bangladesh with an opportunity to upset one of the tournament’s more experienced sides and strengthen their World Cup campaign.

Earlier, Pakistan captain Fatima Sana won the toss and chose to bat first against South Africa in their ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 fixture at Edgbaston in Birmingham on Wednesday.

The encounter marks another chapter in the competitive rivalry between the two sides in Women’s T20 Internationals. Pakistan and South Africa have met 27 times in the format, with South Africa holding a slight edge after winning 15 matches, while Pakistan have registered 12 victories.

Pakistan have fielded a lineup comprising Gull Feroza, Muneeba Ali, Ayesha Zafar, Iram Javed, Natalia Pervaiz, Aliya Riaz, captain Fatima Sana, Rameen Shamim, Tuba Hasan, Nashra Sandhu and Sadia Iqbal.
