Six Suspects Held After Firing on Police in Chaklala

Rawalpindi: Chaklala Police have arrested six suspects, including the alleged ringleader, after they opened fire on a police party during a late-night raid in the area.

According to police, the suspects had been identified after a video showing them firing weapons surfaced several days earlier, prompting the registration of a case on the police complaint.

When police raided the suspects’ hideout to arrest them, the accused allegedly opened fire on the police party. Six suspects were subsequently arrested, while a Kalashnikov, a rifle, three pistols and two motorcycles were recovered from their possession.

Senior police officers reached the scene after being informed about the incident, while a search operation was launched to arrest any remaining suspects.

Police said individuals involved in threatening citizens’ lives and property or attacking law-enforcement personnel would be brought to justice.

Warehouse Employee Arrested for Stealing Olive Oil

Westridge Police have solved a warehouse theft case involving olive oil and cash worth more than Rs650,000, arresting an employee allegedly responsible for the theft.

Police said the suspect used to visit the warehouse for cleaning purposes and had obtained a duplicate key. Investigators expanded the scope of the probe to include the employee, who allegedly confessed to the crime during questioning.

Olive oil and cash worth over Rs650,000 were recovered from the suspect.

SP (Pothohar) Chaudhry Asar Ali said the accused would be prosecuted in court on the basis of concrete evidence.

Man Arrested for Threatening Dengue Control Team 

Morgah Police have arrested a man accused of obstructing and threatening members of a dengue control team during an anti-dengue operation.

According to the police report, the suspect resisted the dengue workers and issued threats, following which a case was registered against him and he was arrested.

SP (Pothohar) Chaudhry Asar Ali said the accused would be prosecuted on the basis of concrete evidence.

Three Arrested for Sheesha Smoking in Rawat

Rawat Police have arrested three people for allegedly smoking sheesha and recovered hookahs, sheesha flavours and other related items from their possession.

Police said an operation was conducted against the suspects, following which a case was registered against them.

SP Saddar Anam Sher said the arrested suspects would be presented before the court with concrete evidence. He added that operations against illegal and health-hazardous activities would continue.

Police Intensify Security at Churches

Following directives from CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera, senior Rawalpindi Police officers visited churches and other key locations to review security arrangements.

SP (Pothohar), SDPOs and SHOs are conducting field visits and supervising security measures, police said.

Entry into churches is being allowed only after thorough body searches, while additional security measures are being implemented to ensure the safety of worshippers and visitors.

Rawalpindi Police said ensuring the protection of citizens’ lives and property remains its top priority and that officers remain engaged in crime prevention and maintaining public safety.

Three Held Over Drug Charges

 Police in Rawalpindi’s Pothohar Division have arrested three individuals and recovered narcotics and liquor during separate operations.

According to police, Chaklala Police arrested a suspect and recovered one kilogramme of charas (cannabis) from his possession.

In a separate operation, Civil Lines Police arrested another individual and recovered 16 bottles of liquor, while Westridge Police detained a suspect and recovered 10 litres of liquor.

Separate cases have been registered against the suspects.

SP (Pothohar) Chaudhry Asar Ali said all possible measures were being taken to curb drug trafficking and eradicate the menace of narcotics from the area.
