WASHINGTON: Early voting is underway for the US midterm elections, with President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump casting their ballots at a polling station in West Palm Beach, Florida.

After voting, Trump told reporters that he had voted for candidates from his own Republican Party. He later departed for Georgia to address an election rally.

Speaking to the media, Trump criticized the Democrats over corruption in the United States, claiming that the problem was particularly prevalent in cities and districts governed by the opposition party.

With only a few days remaining before Election Day, opinion polls indicate that Republicans could face significant challenges in retaining control of the House of Representatives. The party’s position in the Senate also remains uncertain, raising concerns about its ability to maintain a majority in Congress.

The midterm elections are considered a crucial test of the governing party’s political standing and could shape the balance of power in Congress for the remainder of the presidential term.
