ISLAMABAD: Pakistan have climbed to fourth place in the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) ODI team rankings after consecutive victories in the ongoing tri-nation series in Rawalpindi, overtaking Australia as the national side gains momentum ahead of upcoming international assignments.
Pakistan’s rise comes after wins against Sri Lanka and England, with the team now sitting on 103 rating points, just one point behind third-ranked South Africa. India lead the standings with 115 points, followed by New Zealand with 109, while Australia have slipped to fifth.
The latest rankings also highlight individual gains for Pakistan’s emerging and established players, with all-rounder Arafat Minhas among the biggest movers following his match-winning performance against England.
Minhas shines as Pakistan defeat England
Minhas played a decisive role in Pakistan’s 87-run victory over England, scoring 59 off 58 balls and taking six wickets for 40 runs in a remarkable all-round display.
Pakistan had been reduced to 81 for four before recovering to post 302, with Hassan Nawaz contributing 79 runs, Minhas adding a half-century and Faheem Ashraf providing an aggressive 39. England were subsequently dismissed for 215.
Minhas’s performance has also lifted him 89 places in the ICC ODI all-rounder rankings, underlining his growing value to Pakistan’s limited-overs setup.
Babar holds ground as Abrar remains second
In the ODI batting rankings, Pakistan’s Babar Azam has retained seventh place, while Salman Ali Agha has climbed one position to 12th. England’s Ben Duckett has moved up two places to 13th.

His rating has increased from 714 to 742 points, giving him an 80-point advantage over Abrar Ahmed. Rashid has also climbed two places to sixth in the ODI all-rounder rankings.
Afghanistan batter Sediqullah Atal has made significant progress as well, rising from 32nd to 20th among ODI batters after scoring 102 off 110 balls against Zimbabwe in Abu Dhabi. His century helped Afghanistan secure a 158-run victory.
Pakistan retain a strong presence in T20 rankings
Pakistan players have maintained prominent positions in the latest T20 rankings. India’s Ishan Kishan leads the batting list, followed by Abhishek Sharma, while Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan occupies third place.
Rashid Khan remains the top-ranked T20 bowler, with Abrar Ahmed holding fourth place.
The recently concluded five-match T20 series between India and the West Indies has also brought changes to the standings. West Indies captain Shai Hope has risen two places to ninth among batters, while Sherfane Rutherford has climbed six spots to 18th.
Left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie has made a 10-place jump to reach 26th among T20 bowlers.
