Rawalpindi’s cultural scene came alive as the Punjab Arts Council (PAC) opened its Regional Drama Festival, featuring performances aimed at highlighting social issues through family-oriented theatre.

The festival began with the staging of “Rishte Aur Ferishte,” a play written and directed by Yar Muhammad, which explores the impact of greed on human relationships and the choices people make in pursuit of wealth.

Through a blend of drama and emotional storytelling, the play portrays how the pursuit of material gains can distance individuals from their loved ones, while emphasizing the lasting value of relationships, identity and connection with one’s homeland.
