Suspect Held as Police Probe Woman’s Death in Lahore

Lahore: The mystery surrounding the death of a 25-year-old woman whose body was found hanging in a flat in Islampura three days ago remains unresolved, while police have detained a suspect for questioning.
The deceased, identified as Arshma, was reportedly working as a beautician and living alone in the flat. Police said a crime scene unit and forensic experts examined the premises and collected evidence, with samples sent to a laboratory for analysis.
According to SP City Arshad Hayat Kanju, the investigation is underway and police are examining all possible aspects of the case, including the possibility of suicide.
Investigators said Arshma operated a beauty parlour and also created and uploaded videos on TikTok.
Police have detained a suspect after allegedly finding evidence indicating the person’s movements inside the deceased’s flat. Officials said, however, that no final conclusion about the circumstances of her death could be reached until the post-mortem and forensic reports are received.
The investigation is continuing as police work to determine the events leading to Arshma’s death and establish whether the case involved suicide or any other circumstances.
