PSL Limited to Karachi & Lahore, No Spectators Allowed: Naqvi

Lahore: Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches will take place without spectators this season, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced Sunday, as part of government-imposed austerity measures in response to the ongoing regional crisis.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, speaking at a press conference in Lahore, confirmed that the tournament will be confined to just two venues, Karachi and Lahore, to minimize public movement and ensure compliance with the government’s cost-cutting directives.

Naqvi emphasized that the decision reflects the need to balance the continuation of the league with public safety and fiscal responsibility during challenging times.

Meanwhile, the men’s squad is gearing up for the much-anticipated Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11, which begins on March 26 and runs until May 3.

This year’s edition features eight teams, including two newcomers, RawalPindiz and Hyderabad Kingsmen, competing across 44 matches.

The opening fixture will see defending champions Lahore Qalandars face off against Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen at the Qalandars’ home ground.
With Eid celebrations marking a moment of unity, Pakistan’s cricketers used the occasion to connect with fans while preparing for a busy and exciting cricketing season ahead.

Pakistan’s women cricketers, including Sidra Amin, Muneeba Ali, Nashra Sandhu, and Tuba Hassan, extended similar greetings, highlighting the team’s camaraderie and connection with fans ahead of their international assignments.

The women’s team is set to participate in a T20I tri-series against the West Indies and Ireland in May, as part of preparations for the T20 World Cup 2026 (June 12–July 5).
