Kaghan Tourism Gets Boost with Road, Chairlift in Manwar Valley
News Desk
Kaghan: Efforts to improve tourism infrastructure in Kaghan Valley received a boost on Saturday as a newly constructed 9-kilometer road and a chairlift were inaugurated in the scenic Manwar Valley.
The projects were inaugurated by Member of Provincial Assembly Munir Hussain Lughmani and Secretary Tourism, Archaeology and Museums Saadat Hussain, in the presence of officials from the Kaghan Development Authority and local residents.
The road provides an alternative route to the tourist destination after the previous link road was damaged by last year’s monsoon rains and floods, which had disrupted access for more than 20,000 residents and visitors to the area.

Authorities said the new infrastructure aims to restore connectivity and improve travel for tourists.
Officials noted that Manwar Valley is being considered for inclusion in broader tourism development initiatives under a proposed master plan for Kaghan Valley. The plan is expected to focus on expanding tourist facilities while preserving the area’s natural landscape.
Speaking at the event, representatives of the provincial tourism department said the projects are part of ongoing efforts to promote sustainable tourism, enhance visitor access, and support local communities dependent on tourism.
Local residents welcomed the development, expressing hope that improved infrastructure would attract more visitors and contribute to economic activity in the region.
