Hajj 2027: Why Was the Application Date Delayed?
News Desk
Islamabad: Pakistan’s government has postponed the opening of applications for the Hajj 2027 government scheme by one day, with the registration process now scheduled to begin on August 18 instead of August 17.
Under the revised schedule, pre-registered pilgrims will be able to submit their applications and deposit the required expenses either online or through designated bank branches.
The government has allocated a quota of 107,526 pilgrims for the Hajj 2027 scheme. Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, with the submission process set to close once the allocated quota is reached.
Only pilgrims who have completed the pre-registration process will be eligible to apply under the government scheme.
The Hajj expenses will be collected in two equal installments, allowing successful applicants to pay the required amount in stages.
In addition to the government scheme, 71,684 pilgrims have been allocated a quota under the private Hajj scheme, representing 40 percent of the overall allocation mentioned in the government’s plan.
The one-day delay means prospective pilgrims who have already completed pre-registration will have to wait until August 18 to submit their applications.
Authorities have urged eligible applicants to complete the process promptly, given that applications will be accepted according to the first-come, first-served principle and may close once the government quota is filled.
