DC Rawalpindi Orders High Alert Over Nullah Lai

Rawalpindi: Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Capt (Retd) Nadeem Nasir on Saturday inspected the water flow situation at Nullah Lai and reviewed flood preparedness measures amid the ongoing monsoon rains.

During his visit to Gawalmandi Bridge, the deputy commissioner was briefed by relevant officials about the current water levels and precautionary arrangements in place to deal with any possible emergency.

Officials informed him that the water flow in Nullah Lai remained within normal limits and the situation was currently stable.

  • WASA, Rescue 1122 and district administration are fully mobilised to respond to any emergency during the monsoon season.

The deputy commissioner directed all concerned departments to remain on high alert throughout the monsoon season and ensure continuous monitoring of vulnerable and flood-prone areas.

He instructed line departments to maintain close coordination and keep emergency response teams fully prepared for any emergency caused by heavy rainfall or rising water levels.

Capt. (Retd) Nadeem Nasir said the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), Rescue 1122 and district administration were fully mobilised and working together to handle any developing situation.

He added that the protection of citizens’ lives and property remained the top priority of the district administration, and all available resources would be utilised to ensure public safety during the monsoon season.
