120 All Out: How Pakistan Lost First Test Against West Indies

Bridgetown: Pakistan’s hopes of chasing a modest target faded after a dramatic batting collapse as West Indies secured a 90-run victory in the first Test, taking a crucial lead in the series.

Chasing 211 runs for victory, Pakistan’s batting lineup struggled against the West Indies bowling attack and was dismissed for just 120 runs. Eight Pakistani batters failed to reach double figures, while Babar Azam was the only major resistance, scoring 58 runs.

West Indies fast bowler Jaden Seales led the attack with five wickets, while Kemar Roach and Justin Greaves contributed with two wickets each to wrap up Pakistan’s innings.

Earlier, West Indies were bowled out for 181 runs in their second innings, setting Pakistan a challenging target on a difficult pitch. Mohammad Abbas was Pakistan’s standout bowler, claiming five wickets in the second innings and finishing with eight wickets in the match.

Following the defeat, Pakistan captain Babar Azam admitted that batting failures proved decisive despite the team’s strong performance in other areas.

Speaking to the media, Babar said Pakistan had played good cricket over the last three days but failed to build important partnerships when needed. He added that West Indies made better use of the conditions, while Pakistan would review their batting mistakes ahead of the next Test.

The captain also highlighted the importance of handling the new ball effectively, saying early overs played a key role in the match outcome.
