Wasim Abbas, Saba Hameed End 29-Year Marriage

Islamabad: Veteran Pakistani actor Wasim Abbas has confirmed that he and fellow actor Saba Hameed are divorced, revealing that although they had been living separately for the past 14 years, their 29-year marriage has now officially ended.

Speaking in a recent interview, Abbas said the couple had quietly lived apart for more than a decade while maintaining a cordial relationship. Despite their separation, they continued to work together professionally and occasionally met as friends.

“We have no bitterness or resentment toward each other,” Abbas said, adding that he and Hameed would be willing to share the screen again if offered a suitable project in the future.

The actor said he did not feel sadness over the divorce, explaining that the emotional bond between them had ended long ago. He also noted that the couple did not have any children together.

Abbas said he continued to enjoy a respectful relationship with Hameed’s family and emphasized that mutual respect had always been more important to him than love.

“I have always valued respect more than love, and I believe this decision was the right one,” he said.

Reflecting on his second marriage, Abbas said he would not describe it as a major mistake because it felt like the right decision at the time. However, looking back, he acknowledged that it may have been a mistake but added that he had no regrets about the relationship coming to an end.

The veteran actor also ruled out the possibility of marrying again, saying he has no plans for a third marriage. He said he is now a grandfather, his children are grown, and his first wife lives in the same household, making another marriage inappropriate in his view.

Abbas further stressed that neither he nor Hameed had ever spoken negatively about each other in public or through the media.

While Abbas has publicly confirmed the divorce, Hameed has not yet issued an official statement on the matter.

The news has sparked widespread discussion on social media and within Pakistan’s entertainment industry, with many fans praising the former couple for handling their separation with dignity and mutual respect.
