Punjab Bans on Boys Gathering Near Girls’ Colleges

News Desk

LAHORE: The Lahore police have issued a strict directive prohibiting boys from gathering around girls’ colleges and universities.

This announcement was made by DIG Operations Faisal Kamran during an anti-crime meeting held in the Model Town Division.

Kamran emphasized the importance of maintaining a safe environment for female students, stating that the presence of boys in close proximity to educational institutions can lead to harassment and discomfort.

He urged law enforcement officials to ensure compliance with this directive and to take necessary actions against violators.

This move reflects ongoing concerns regarding the safety of women in public spaces, particularly in educational settings. The directive aims to foster a more secure atmosphere for female students, aligning with broader efforts to combat gender-based harassment in Pakistan.

In the coming weeks, the Lahore police plan to enhance patrols around educational institutions and conduct awareness campaigns to inform the public about the new regulations. Officials are also expected to hold further meetings to assess the effectiveness of these measures and make adjustments as needed.
