Saad Masood Eyes Title Glory as Rawalpindi Gear Up for PSL 11

Lahore: Rawalpindi players are aiming high ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11, with all-rounder Saad Masood expressing confidence that the new team will strive to deliver strong performances and compete for the title.

Speaking to the media in Lahore, Saad Masood said the team’s preparations are progressing well, with warm-up matches helping players get into rhythm. He added that as an all-rounder, he aims to contribute in all departments to benefit the team.

He termed competition in the league as a positive factor, saying it raises the standard of the game and provides players with opportunities to prove themselves.

Highlighting the importance of fan support, he said supporters will be missed in stadiums, but Rawalpindi fans remain eager to back their side. “We will try our best not to disappoint them,” he added.

Commenting on team leadership, Saad Masood praised captain Mohammad Rizwan for his supportive approach, noting that he consistently encourages players to give their “100 percent.” He reiterated that Rawalpindi’s primary goal in their debut season is to perform strongly and push for the championship.

On social media, he admitted to occasionally following it, acknowledging that criticism does create some pressure.

Meanwhile, captains of participating teams expressed determination to deliver quality cricket in PSL 11 during a joint press conference in Lahore.

Shaheen Afridi, captain of Lahore Qalandars, said preparations for the new season are on track and his team is ready to compete at a high level. He added that the league’s first decade has been highly successful and promised more exciting cricket ahead.

Babar Azam, leading Peshawar Zalmi, said he will miss the presence of fans but vowed to play entertaining cricket so viewers can enjoy matches from home.

Rawalpindi captain Mohammad Rizwan also expressed optimism about the league’s future, saying the PSL will continue to grow and achieve greater success in the coming years.

With teams geared up and captains confident, PSL 11 promises a competitive and entertaining season for cricket fans.
