Rain Havoc: Five Killed, Five Miners Await Rescue in Balochistan

Quetta: At least five persons were killed in rain-related incidents, and five miners are trapped in a coal mine in northeastern Balochistan, sources said on Friday.

The casualties occurred when the roof of a house collapsed in Duki district due to torrential rains in northeastern Balochistan.

Meanwhile, in Duki, five miners are trapped in a coal mine, and rescue operations are underway to extricate them. 

Due to the rain, floodwaters entered a coal mine in the Nasirabad before Iftar, trapping five miners. Officials report that floodwaters have reached depths of 60 feet inside the mine, cutting off the trapped miners.

According to Levies sources, there is a flood situation in Duki district due to continuous heavy rain for 10 hours.

Meanwhile, in Harnai, the highway connecting Punjab has been washed away in flood lanes in multiple locations.

The national highway at Kozhak Top has been affected by flood-related incidents, and landslides have closed the highway in Dhanasar.
