PTI Demands Imran Khan’s Inclusion for Reconciliation with Government
ISLAMABAD: Leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party asserted on Monday that any potential reconciliation between their party and the government hinges on the inclusion of PTI founder Imran Khan in future discussions.
During a press briefing, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja emphasized that the absence of Khan from negotiations would render any talks ineffective. “Only [Imran] has the capability to bridge the gulf that has developed between the state and the nation,” Raja stated, outlining the party’s position following the breakdown of talks over the weekend.
This demand underscores the ongoing political tensions in Pakistan, where the relationship between the government and the opposition remains fraught. The insistence on Khan’s involvement reflects PTI’s belief that his leadership is crucial for any meaningful dialogue aimed at resolving the current political impasse.
Looking ahead, PTI leaders have called for an urgent meeting with government representatives to discuss the framework for future negotiations, stressing that without Khan’s participation, the prospects for reconciliation remain bleak.
