Pakistan to hold first Influencer Awards

Islamabad: Pakistan is set to host its first-ever Pakistan Influencer Awards (PIA) on November 7, with more than 30 categories planned to recognize the country’s growing community of social media influencers and digital content creators.
The event will bring together creators from across Pakistan and will be hosted by popular vloggers Amtal Baweja and Fahad Tariq, known as the ‘Patan Gir’ duo.
Baweja announced the development on Instagram, saying he was proud to be associated with an initiative that recognizes Pakistan’s digital creator community. He noted that after spending eight years in the field, he had never imagined that he would eventually host the country’s first influencer awards.
Recognizing Pakistan’s digital creators
The awards are being organized as content creation increasingly develops into a professional career for young Pakistanis.
According to the organizers, the initiative aims to provide digital creators with a dedicated platform for recognition while promoting creativity, professional standards and healthy competition within the country’s growing content industry.
Speaking at a ceremony on July 27, chief curator Talha Aslam said the initiative seeks to help Pakistan’s content industry develop according to international standards while establishing basic principles for the rapidly evolving digital sector.
The awards will feature categories covering fashion, tourism, beauty, lifestyle, fitness, gaming, music, parenting and entertainment, among others.
Special awards will also be presented for ‘Creator of the Year’ and ‘Emerging Creator’ across YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.
Multi-stage selection process
The organizers have introduced a multi-stage process to select the winners.
An algorithm will initially identify the top 20 candidates in each category, with the results then verified through a market survey.
A jury comprising established content creators will shortlist 10 candidates from each category. A second jury, consisting of marketing and advertising professionals, will then select five finalists.
The ultimate winners will be chosen through public voting. Online voting is scheduled to begin in October, giving audiences an opportunity to vote for their preferred creators.
Digital media’s growing influence
The awards come as Pakistan’s digital media industry continues to expand, with an increasing number of young people pursuing content creation as a profession and source of income.
Organizers say the initiative will not only recognize established creators but also provide emerging talent with greater visibility and encourage constructive use of social media.
The event also reflects the growing role of digital creators in Pakistan’s entertainment, advertising and cultural landscape, where social media is increasingly becoming an important platform for reaching audiences and shaping public trends.
