Malhar Responds to Tanushree Dutta’s Controversial Statement
News Desk
MUMBAI: Malhar Patikar, son of the late Bollywood actor Nana Patikar, has expressed strong disapproval of actress Tanushree Dutta’s controversial statement, ‘The devil is dead,’ made in reference to his father.
Dutta had previously accused Nana Patikar of sexual harassment on the set of the 2009 film ‘Horn OK Pleassss,’ a claim that resurfaced during the MeToo movement in 2018.
In a recent interview, Malhar stated, ‘It is disrespectful to speak ill of the deceased. My father was a talented artist who deserves to be remembered for his contributions to cinema, not for unfounded allegations.’
Dutta’s remarks have reignited discussions surrounding the allegations against Nana Patikar, which he had vehemently denied.
This incident highlights the ongoing discourse around sexual harassment in the entertainment industry, particularly in India, where the MeToo movement has prompted many to come forward with their stories.
The public’s reaction to Dutta’s comments has been mixed, with some supporting her stance while others defend the late actor’s legacy.
As the conversation continues, it remains to be seen whether this will lead to further investigations or discussions within the industry regarding accountability and the treatment of allegations.
The impact of such statements on public perception and the legacy of those involved is significant, prompting a need for sensitivity and respect in these discussions.
