Addressing the conference, which took place in Shanghai after a 12-year hiatus, Mr. Shah expressed optimism that the event would herald a new era of Chinese investment, leading to significant job creation and industrial modernization in Sindh.
He highlighted the Dhabeji Special Economic Zone as a prime opportunity for Chinese and international investors looking for a cost-effective base for manufacturing and export-oriented businesses.
The proposed industrial clusters at Dhabeji encompass various sectors, including automotive and auto parts, light engineering, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, consumer electronics, steel and foundries, warehousing, construction materials, textiles, and garments.
This diversification aims to bolster the province’s economic landscape and create sustainable employment opportunities for its citizens.
During the day-long event, approximately 400 delegates, including investors, business leaders, and representatives from Chinese companies and financial institutions, participated, resulting in the signing of 34
Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs). Looking ahead, the Sindh government plans to facilitate further discussions and collaborations to ensure the successful implementation of these investment initiatives.
