Murree Police Issue Alert After Heavy Rainfall

Murree: Continuous rainfall over the past 48 hours has increased safety concerns in Murree, with police issuing a precautionary advisory for tourists and commuters amid risks of landslides, flash floods and slippery roads.
District Police Officer Murree Dr Muhammad Raza Tanveer Sipra said all major routes in and around the hill station remain open, but heavy tourist traffic and wet road conditions are causing slow movement on several key routes.

Authorities have advised visitors to avoid seasonal streams, nullahs and water channels due to the possibility of sudden flooding. Tourists have also been warned against stopping near steep slopes and cliffs, where persistent rain could trigger landslides or falling rocks.
Police urged motorists to drive carefully, maintain safe distances, avoid risky overtaking and use fog lights as reduced visibility and heavy rainfall may create hazardous driving conditions.
DPO Murree said police teams have been deployed at major points to facilitate traffic management and assist tourists, while urging visitors to follow safety instructions and weather updates during their stay.
