Mohsin Abbas’s Shocking Revelations About Drug Use in Showbiz
News Desk
Islamabad: Pakistani actor, singer and writer Mohsin Abbas Haider has made startling claims about drug and alcohol use in the entertainment industry, alleging that some artists arrive on shooting sets in an intoxicated state and calling for strict action against them.
Speaking during a recent appearance on a private television program, Mohsin Abbas Haider openly discussed what he described as one of the darker realities of the showbiz world.
The actor revealed that he had previously shared a social media post demanding a complete ban on actors, actresses and directors who report to work under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Recalling an incident that followed the post, Mohsin said he received a call from the production company of a drama serial he was working on at the time.
“They asked me, ‘Mohsin Bhai, are you currently shooting for our drama?
Then who is this post about?’ I replied, ‘Yes, I am on your set, and it is about that place,'” he said.
According to Mohsin, the production team then asked whether he was referring to a specific actor or actress.
“I told them yes, and they assured me that they would look into the matter,” he added.

The actor went on to describe what he claimed was his experience while filming scenes with a fellow performer.
“You can imagine the situation. I was talking to the heroine of the drama, but she could not even maintain eye contact with me. Her eyes were wandering elsewhere,” he said.
Mohsin stressed that such behavior should not be tolerated within the entertainment industry.
“We should not encourage anything that causes destruction in society,” he remarked.
When asked whether the production company had taken any action following his complaint, Mohsin responded that the matter was investigated and appropriate action was taken.
This is not the first time the actor has raised the issue. In January 2025, Mohsin Abbas Haider also criticized artists allegedly working under the influence of alcohol in a social media post.
However, during the recent interview, he did not disclose the names of any actors, actresses or directors. As a result, the allegations and claims made by the actor could not be independently verified.
His comments have nevertheless sparked fresh debate on professionalism, accountability and substance abuse within Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
