Met Office Predicts Hot Spell With No Rain in Karachi

KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Tuesday issued a weather update for Karachi, dismissing immediate chances of rainfall and predicting that hot and humid conditions will persist across the metropolis in the coming days.
According to Met Office officials, high levels of humidity in the air are keeping the city in the grip of intense suffocation and heat. Despite scattered cloud cover in some coastal neighborhoods, the upper atmosphere lacks the necessary moisture systems required to trigger precipitation.
The prevailing meteorological conditions mean that citizens will continue to experience discomfort, particularly during peak daytime hours when the heat index climbs significantly higher than actual recorded temperatures. Health experts have advised residents to stay hydrated and avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight.
Weather analysts will continue to monitor regional pressure systems to determine if any monsoon reactivation or westerly wave is likely to approach the southern parts of Sindh later this month, bringing much-needed relief to the provincial capital.
