Engagement Dispute Leads to Fatal Shooting of Woman in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: A 22-year-old woman named Nadia was tragically shot and killed by her fiancé after she refused to set a wedding date. The incident occurred in the Pahari Pura area of Peshawar, where the suspect fled the scene following the attack.
According to local authorities, the shooting took place during an argument over the wedding arrangements. Eyewitnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots, and police arrived shortly after to find Nadia critically injured.
Despite immediate medical attention, she succumbed to her injuries shortly thereafter. The police have launched a manhunt for the suspect, who remains at large.
This incident highlights the ongoing issues of gender-based violence and the societal pressures surrounding marriage in Pakistan.
