Mumbai: Rajasthan Royals’ teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi enjoyed a breakthrough IPL 2026 campaign, not only emerging as the tournament’s top run-scorer but also earning more than Rs250 million through contracts, match fees, and performance awards.

The 15-year-old batsman was one of the standout performers of the season, amassing 776 runs to claim the Orange Cap and establish himself as one of the brightest young talents in Indian cricket.

Suryavanshi was retained by Rajasthan Royals for Rs11 million after being picked up for the same amount ahead of the previous season. However, his earnings surged significantly thanks to a string of individual awards and match payments.

Despite the Rajasthan Royals failing to reach the final, Suryavanshi attended the IPL 2026 presentation ceremony at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, where he received multiple accolades for his outstanding performances throughout the tournament.

He was named the Most Valuable Player of the Season, earning a cash prize of Rs1.5 million. The young batter also received Rs1 million for winning the Orange Cap and another Rs1 million along with a Tata Sierra vehicle after being named Super Striker of the Season.

In addition, Suryavanshi collected Rs1 million for finishing as the Super Sixes of the Season winner after smashing 72 sixes during the campaign. He also secured the Emerging Player of the Season award, which carried a cash prize of Rs1 million.

The teenager further boosted his earnings through match fees. Under IPL regulations, players receive Rs750,000 per match, and Suryavanshi featured in all 16 matches for Rajasthan Royals, earning Rs12 million in match payments alone.

He also pocketed additional prize money through various match-day awards, including Electric Striker of the Match and Most Sixes of the Match, each carrying a cash reward of Rs100,000.

With his franchise contract, performance bonuses, match fees, and award winnings combined, Suryavanshi’s total earnings from the IPL 2026 season crossed Rs25 million, capping off a remarkable year for the young cricketer.
