Transgender person shot dead in DI Khan

PESHAWAR: A 20-year-old transgender person was shot dead allegedly by his friend in Dera Ismail Khan. The local police confirmed that the body of a transgender, named Sheeza, was found from his house. The victim was shot in the chest.

According to the Police, some of the witnesses informed that a friend of the transgender named Rashid was involved in the murder who escaped the area after the killing. Hence, raids were being conducted to arrest the suspected person who was an employee at District Headquarters Hospital, DI Khan. It is pertinent to mention here that more than 70 transsexual persons lost their lives in different kinds of incident in different parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa in the last few years and the majority of them were attacked by the people unknown to the victim.

In a recent survey, it was also discovered that around 74 transgender persons were killed in KP. According to the survey, the latest murder was that of transgender activist Gul Panra in Palosai village on the outskirts of Peshawar.
