Students in Bajaur Face Textbook Shortage as New Academic Year Progresses
BAJAUR: Numerous students in government primary schools across Bajaur district are still awaiting the delivery of essential textbooks, despite the new academic year commencing in early April. Residents from various tehsils, including Lowi Mamund, War Mamund, Salarzai, Nawagai, and Barang, have expressed their concerns over the lack of educational resources for their children.
According to local resident Ayaz Khan, many students are missing critical textbooks, including general science, which are provided free of charge by the local education department. “There are numerous students of different classes in government primary schools for both boys and girls who have yet to be provided textbooks,” Khan stated, highlighting the ongoing issue that has persisted for several months.
The absence of these textbooks is significantly impacting students’ education, as they are crucial for both classroom learning and homework assignments. Parents are worried that this delay will hinder their children’s academic progress and overall educational experience.
Residents have claimed that the missing books are available with the local education department, but the reasons for their non-distribution remain unclear. As the situation unfolds, community leaders are urging the education authorities to expedite the process of delivering textbooks to ensure that students do not fall behind in their studies.
