Six Security Persons Martyred, Eight Khwarij Killed in Hangu Clash

At least six valiant security personnel, including a captain and a lieutenant, embraced martyrdom during an intense firefight following a terrorist ambush on a military convoy in the Hangu district, the military’s media wing reported on Sunday.
In the subsequent retaliatory counter-terrorism operation, security forces successfully neutralized eight Khwarij militants, restoring calm to the area after hours of heavy exchange of gunfire.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the convoy was ruthlessly targeted by militants in a cowardly assault. Demonstrating exemplary courage and tactical prowess, the troops immediately retaliated, cutting off the escape routes of the attackers.
The supreme sacrifices of the young commissioned officers and four brave soldiers underscore the relentless threats faced by the nation’s frontline defenders in the ongoing battle against extremism.
