Sindh Rejects MDCAT Result Objections, Sends Letter to PMDC

KARACHI: The Sindh Health Department has categorically rejected all objections and allegations regarding the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) results for Karachi candidates, sending a detailed formal response to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) on Tuesday.

The controversy erupted following complaints from several prospective medical students and parents regarding perceived disparities and discrepancies in the recent entry test evaluation.

In its official correspondence dispatched to the regulatory body, the provincial health ministry stated that the entire examination process was conducted with maximum transparency, strict oversight, and total adherence to standard operating procedures, rendering all claims of malpractices or unfair grading completely unfounded.

The annual MDCAT remains a high-stakes competitive gateway for tens of thousands of aspiring doctors across Sindh and the rest of Pakistan.

Prolonged disputes over test credibility severely threaten the academic calendar and delay admissions into public and private medical and dental institutions.

By clarifying its position through official channels, the provincial government aims to restore confidence among candidates while mitigating potential legal challenges that could halt the admission cycle.

The PMDC leadership is slated to review the Sindh Health Department’s submission alongside reports from independent oversight committees in the coming days.

Educational authorities expressed optimism that the formal clarification will clear hurdles for finalizing the regional merit lists, allowing the medical college admission process to proceed without further disruption.
