KARACHI: The Sindh government has approved a 7% salary increase for employees of Rescue 1122, alongside a one-year extension of contracts for existing staff.
This decision was made during the sixth meeting of the Sindh Emergency Council, chaired by Chief Minister’s Advisor Gyan Chand Esrani.
During the meeting, officials reviewed the performance and financial management of Rescue 1122, emphasizing the importance of supporting emergency service workers. Esrani highlighted that this salary adjustment reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of its employees, particularly in critical services.
This salary increase is expected to positively impact the morale of Rescue 1122 employees, who play a vital role in emergency response across the province.
The move is seen as a necessary step to retain skilled personnel in a sector that often faces challenges due to resource constraints and high-stress situations.
Looking ahead, the Sindh government plans to continue evaluating the performance of emergency services and may consider further enhancements in employee benefits.
The next meeting of the Sindh Emergency Council is anticipated to address additional support measures for emergency responders.
