Severe Storms Threaten Central Texas Overnight

Texas: Central Texas is bracing for several days of unsettled weather as forecasters warn that strong thunderstorms, damaging winds and flash flooding could impact the region through the Memorial Day weekend.
The first major round of storms is expected to move into the northwest Hill Country late Tuesday evening before spreading overnight into Wednesday. Meteorologists say some storms could become severe, carrying risks of large hail and damaging winds.
While much of Tuesday daytime is expected to remain warm and mostly dry, conditions are forecast to deteriorate after sunset as storm systems organize into a larger line moving across the area.

Forecasters believe the overnight storms may briefly reduce instability on Wednesday, lowering rain chances during the day. However, another widespread round of rain and thunderstorms is expected to develop late Wednesday into Thursday, with additional wet weather likely continuing into next week.
Authorities are also monitoring an increasing flood threat, particularly on Thursday, as repeated rainfall could saturate soils and trigger flash flooding in low-lying areas.
Despite the active weather pattern, temperatures are expected to ease slightly, staying mostly in the 80s. Humidity, however, is forecast to remain high, creating muggy and tropical-like conditions across the region.
