Punjab Launches 33 Mobile Police Stations

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurated 33 mobile police stations on Wednesday, aimed at providing 14 essential services, including the registration of First Information Reports (FIRs), across the province, according to an official statement.
During a briefing on the initiative, Punjab Home Secretary Ahmad Javed Qazi highlighted that six of these mobile units are specifically dedicated to addressing issues faced by women.
Each mobile police station will be led by a sub-inspector, supported by a field supervisor, a senior station assistant, and both male and female constables to ensure comprehensive service delivery.
This initiative is expected to significantly enhance public safety and accessibility to police services, particularly for marginalized groups.
By bringing police services directly to communities, the Punjab government aims to foster a more responsive and accountable law enforcement framework, thereby improving citizens’ trust in the police.
Moving forward, the Punjab government plans to monitor the effectiveness of these mobile stations and may expand the initiative based on community feedback and operational success.
This rollout marks a significant step in modernizing police services in the region.
