Aleem Directs NHA to Collaborate with Foreign Experts on Road Safety

ISLAMABAD: Communications Minister Abdul Aleem Khan has instructed the National Highway Authority (NHA) to collaborate with foreign experts to enhance road engineering and highway design during a meeting held on Wednesday.
The meeting, chaired by Aleem, focused on reviewing ongoing and proposed NHA projects, revenue generation strategies, road safety measures, and developmental programs.
Aleem emphasized the necessity of prioritizing human life in road construction, urging NHA officials to adopt improved engineering practices for new highways.
Expressing concerns over the design of the M-4 and other highways, Aleem stated that Pakistan’s roads should be environmentally friendly, safe, and comfortable, adhering to modern international standards.
He highlighted the importance of engaging foreign experts to ensure that the NHA’s engineering staff implements best practices in developing safer and more user-friendly motorways.
During the meeting, Aleem noted that the NHA had successfully met its revenue enhancement targets set two years ago, indicating progress in the authority’s financial management.
He called for continued efforts to improve road safety and infrastructure, setting the stage for future collaborations and advancements in highway design.
