PMC Forecasts Hot, Humid KP

Peshawar: The Provincial Meteorological Centre (PMC) in Peshawar projected very hot and humid weather over most districts of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the local Met Office has forecast dry and hot weather for Bahawalpur during the next 24 hours.

However, PMC said that wind-dust storms or thunderstorms and rain with isolated heavy falls or hailstorms are likely to occur over Chitral, Lower & Upper Dir, Malakand, Buner, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Torghar, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Swabi, Mardan, Nowshera, Peshawar, Charsadda, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Kurram, Orakzai, Hangu, Kohat, Karak, Bannu, LakkiMarwat, North & South Waziristan, Tank, and Dera Ismail Khan districts.

During the last 24 hours, the weather remained very hot and humid in most districts of the province. However, isolated thunderstorms and rain occurred in Abbottabad, Lower Dir, Bannu, D I Khan, Buner, Saidu Sharif, Upper Dir, Mohmand, and Chitral districts.

Rain recorded (in mm): Kakul 18, Timergara 15, Bannu&D.I.Khan 13 (each), Buner 05, Saidu Sharif 03, Dir 02, Mamad Gut-Mohmand 01, and Chitral Trace.

Maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at different stations:

The highest temperature recorded in the province was 43°C in Dera Ismail Khan.

Dry, hot weather for Bahawalpur: The highest maximum temperature of 40°C and the lowest minimum of 30°C were recorded during the last 24 hours. The dry and hot weather has also been forecast for the rest of the region.
