PM Shahbaz Doubles Loan Amount for Small Businesses

News Desk

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced a significant increase in the loan amount available for small businesses, directing officials to develop a comprehensive plan for loan accessibility.

This decision aims to bolster the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the country.

During a meeting focused on the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA), PM Sharif emphasized the need for a structured approach to facilitate easier access to financing for entrepreneurs.

He stated, “We must ensure that our small businesses receive the support they need to thrive and contribute to the economy.” This initiative is part of the government’s broader strategy to stimulate economic activity and create jobs.

The doubling of loan amounts is expected to have a profound impact on the local economy, providing much-needed capital to startups and existing businesses alike.

This move is particularly crucial as many SMEs have struggled to secure funding in the past, often facing bureaucratic hurdles and high-interest rates. By simplifying the loan process, the government aims to empower entrepreneurs and foster innovation.

Looking ahead, the government plans to hold further discussions with financial institutions and stakeholders to finalize the implementation details of this initiative.

The Prime Minister’s office is expected to release a timeline for the rollout of the new loan scheme in the coming weeks, which will be closely monitored for its effectiveness in supporting the business community.
