Pakistan bowled out for 133 in third Test against England

Islamabad: Pakistan suffered another batting collapse in the first innings of the third Test against England, being bowled out for just 133 runs after England elected to field first.

Saud Shakeel top-scored for Pakistan with 43 runs, while Mohammad Abbas contributed 21 and Razaullah scored 11. No other Pakistani batter managed to reach double figures.

Captain Babar Azam was dismissed for seven runs, while Saim Ayub fell for a duck. Azan Owais scored nine, Abdullah Shafique three, Shan Masood five, Ghazi Ghauri four and Mohammad Imran three runs.

For England, Josh Tongue claimed four wickets, while Ollie Robinson and Jofra Archer took three wickets each to dismantle Pakistan’s batting lineup.

The match also saw Test debuts for Ghazi Ghauri, Razaullah and Imran Randhawa. Ghazi Ghauri received his Test cap from Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Abbas presented Razaullah with his cap, while Babar Azam handed the cap to Imran Randhawa.

England entered the third Test with a commanding 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Meanwhile, Babar Azam has revealed that the changes made to Pakistan’s squad after the Lord’s Test came as a surprise to him.

Babar said the changes were implemented without his prior knowledge, consultation or approval, adding that he learned about them through an official statement issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

He said that under the current selection structure, he should have been kept informed about such decisions as team captain.
