Naqvi Warns PTI of Strict Action Over Long March

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi issued a stern warning to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday, stating that any attempt to stage protests and long marches in the federal capital will force the government to completely seal Islamabad to maintain public order and security.
Addressing the security situation ahead of the announced September 27 demonstration, Interior Minister Naqvi emphasized that the state holds primary responsibility for protecting citizens’ lives and property.
He explicitly stated that those leading the political processions will bear full legal and moral responsibility if any untoward incident or loss of life occurs during the unrest.
The administrative warning highlights escalating political tensions between the federal administration and the opposition party.
Security apparatuses across the twin cities have been placed on high alert, with law enforcement agencies reviewing contingency plans to prevent potential disruptions to daily civic life, commerce, and diplomatic movements within the high-security zone.
