Man Held Over Alleged Sexual Abuse of Seven Children

MURREE: Police have arrested a mosque imam in connection with the alleged sexual abuse of seven children in the Sahar Bagla area near Murree. A case has been registered against the accused, while investigators have decided to conduct medical examinations of three children to collect evidence.
According to police sources, the Phagwari Police Station received a complaint against the accused, identified as Ammar Imtiaz, following which he was taken into custody. Case No. 145/26 has been registered against him at the police station.
Investigators have so far identified seven children as alleged victims. Medical examinations of three of the children are planned as part of the investigation into the allegations.
During interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed to sexually abusing multiple children, although this claim has not been independently verified.
According to reports, Imtiaz had been serving as the imam of a local mosque for the past three years. He also taught children to recite the Holy Quran through Nazra lessons.
Police have launched a formal investigation to establish the facts and gather evidence. Further details are expected to emerge as the inquiry progresses.
