Lahore: Heavy rain and hailstorm lashed several parts of Lahore on Thursday, turning the weather pleasant but disrupting electricity supply and traffic flow across the city.

According to the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), at least 49 feeders tripped due to the rain, causing power outages in multiple areas of Lahore and other parts of the LESCO region.

A LESCO spokesperson said field staff had been placed on high alert to handle emergency situations and restore electricity once the rain subsides.

The downpour also brought a noticeable drop in temperature, providing relief from the heatwave conditions that had gripped the city in recent days.
