KP Police Act to Be Challenged in SC: Talal Chaudhry

ISLAMABAD: In a sharp political escalation, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Talal Chaudhry announced on Thursday that the federal government will officially challenge the recently amended Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Act in the Supreme Court of Pakistan, citing serious constitutional and administrative concerns.
Addressing a press conference, Chaudhry argued that the legislative changes made to the provincial police framework by the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) setup in KP undermine the established writ of the state and infringe upon federal administrative harmony.
