Karachi: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast hot and humid weather in Karachi, with the maximum temperature likely to reach 38 degrees Celsius.
According to the PMD, the minimum temperature recorded in the city was 29.8°C, while the current temperature stood at 31°C. The humidity level has been measured at 75 percent, which is expected to increase the intensity of the heat and make weather conditions feel warmer than the actual temperature.
The department said that winds are blowing at a speed of 20 kilometres per hour, but despite the breeze, hot and humid conditions are likely to persist throughout the day.
Meanwhile, the PMD has also forecast dry and hot weather in most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. However, strong winds and thundershowers are expected in some upper and plain districts of the province.
In Peshawar, the current temperature was recorded at 28°C and is expected to rise to 36°C during the day. The city’s humidity level was recorded at 51 percent.
Among other districts, Chitral recorded the lowest temperature at 11°C, followed by Dir at 14°C. Malam Jabba reported 18°C, while Saidu Sharif recorded 22°C.
Temperatures in other parts of the province included 27°C in Bannu, 29°C in Dera Ismail Khan, and 22°C in Abbottabad.
The Meteorological Department has advised citizens to take precautionary measures against the heat, stay hydrated, and avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight during peak daytime hours.
