Hockey Team Moves Up to 12th in FIH World Rankings

Islamabad: Pakistan’s national hockey team has climbed one spot to 12th position in the latest International Hockey Federation (FIH) world rankings, marking a positive step ahead of the upcoming international competitions.
Pakistan secured 2,544.54 ranking points, with the improvement reflecting the team’s recent performances and continued efforts in international tournaments, according to the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF).
The rise in rankings pushed South Africa down to 13th place, while Malaysia moved to 14th position in the global standings.
The PHF said the team’s next major goal is to return to the world’s top 10 hockey nations. Officials believe the latest ranking boost will increase players’ confidence as they prepare for the challenges ahead.
Pakistan are set to feature in the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026, where they have been placed in Pool D alongside traditional rivals India, as well as England and Wales.
